Show up Fort Erie to hear Niagara Healths version of Healthcare in Niagara. A big shiny new hospital cannot provide the rapid care needed when the emergency is in Fort Erie. We all need to share this with our friends and family and make sure they come out to the meeting and let Niagara Health know their plan does not work for Fort Erie.
We have grown since the original plan was put together; in fact all of the towns and cities have grown - it's evident from the long wait times at emergency departments. Fort Erie and Port Colborne could help relieve some of the backlog.
We have a large portion of our residents that are seniors and want to stay in their home town so family and friends can be with them.
We have many people that are disabled or don't have transportation at all and they don't know how they can get to one of the three healthcare centers.
Ambulances are in huge supply and can't take care of all the calls now and you want them to assess if people need to go to emergency or you want people to call a virtual nurse to determine if you need help.
What happens in the middle of the night- do I just roll over and hope to see daylight
Niagara Healths plan is not for the benefit of the people in Fort Erie or Port Colborne we have a combined population of 50,068 plus add NOTL into the mix of closures and that's another 21, 507
That's an additional 71,000 people spread between the three remaining systems and they can't handle it now
Tell Niagara Health their plan, their vision does not work for Fort Erie
COME OUT TO THEIR MEETINGS AND LET THEM KNOW FORT ERIE NEEDS DOUGLAS MEMORIAL TO REMAIN OPEN 24/7!!
